SATURDAY 15 & SUNDAY 16 – IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Following the Government Alert regarding the nationwide spate of wildfires and the request that individuals and organisations do all that they can to minimise the risk, the steam trains scheduled to operate Sat 15 – Mon 17 will not run.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see a steam engine at Sheringham Station and take a short ride on a special shuttle service within the station environs.

The services marked as “Heritage Diesel” in the timetables below will operate as planned.

Our team will remain in contact with NFRS and will be reviewing this situation carefully – we will confirm arrangements for Tuesday onwards as soon as we are able.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, we appreciate that many visitors would like a longer trip behind steam. We have been liaising closely with Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service throughout the hot dry spell, and they were content with arrangements for steam to run between Sheringham and Weybourne. Our trains have not given rise to any significant fires this season; however given the national situation, we feel that a cautious approach is best at this time.
