£397,000 Awarded to the North Norfolk Railway by HM Government The North Norfolk Railway has been awarded £397,000 by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This is part of a large investment in to the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund, and will help organisations such as the North Norfolk Railway with its recovery from the impacts of COVID-19. £360,000 funding from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport
The North Norfolk Railway has been awarded £360,000 from the Government as part of a £1.57bn injection from the Culture Recovery Fund which has been set up to help Britain's world-class cultural, arts and heritage sites bounce back from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This money will go a long way in helping us to recover from the incredibly different year this has been.
Latest carriage restoration emerges from Weybourne Works
Last seen in traffic in 1927, today saw the emergence of Great Eastern Railway coach No. 853 from Weybourne Woks after a 4-year restoration project by the Joint Heritage Coach Fund team led by Nigel Scarlett. Come along to the railway's Home Fleet Weekend on the 5th and 6th October for a chance of riding on it as part of the Vintage Train.
