A train ride through history
Don’t miss the chance to see and travel on two steam trains this Easter, and join in with our special Easter hunt!
One of our smaller tank engines, “Newstead”, is scheduled to be out on the line each day alongside powerful tender engine WD 90775 “The Royal Norfolk Regiment”. “Newstead” joined the railway’s steam fleet in 2025, having been hidden away for decades with most assuming she had been scrapped during the 1970s.
90775 was built for the Ministry of Supply in December 1943 and allocated for use in the Middle East, also working in Greece in 1945. In the summer of 1984 90775 was repatriated having arrived back in Ipswich Docks after 27 years in Greece.

Easter Hunt
Hop aboard the “Easter Eggspress” to help Morgan the Railway Cat find all his eggs, designed especially by local schools*, which have been scattered across our stations and lineside.
Find them all and enjoy a chocolate egg to take home! Got a little one with dietary requirements? No problem – a Dairy, Nut, Egg and Gluten free egg will also be available.
*We’re delighted to be working with 5 local schools on our 2026 Easter trail, and would like to give our thanks to the following:
- Beeston Hall
- Gresham’s Pre Prep
- Kelling Primary School
- Sheringham Primary
- Sheringham Woodfields School
